The PBA and PBF Partnered with Bunkey's Car Wash
in Cary, NC on Sunday January 30, 2011 to Support Officer Matt Long.
The tremendous community support made the fundraiser a huge success!
The PBA and the PBF was proud to partner with Bunkey's Car Wash in
Cary on January 30th to raise funds for Officer Matt Long. Officer
Matt Long was recently diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing
extensive treatments.
The goal was to alleviate some of the financial concerns for him and
his family. Over 20 PBA members turned out at the two locations to
show their support for Matt and his family and help with the event.
Matt's wife (Donna) and daughter (Ashley) were also on hand to
express their gratitude.
Several elected officials representing Cary stopped by to show their
support (Mayor Harold Weinbrecht, Council Member Jennifer Robinson,
Council Member Gale Adcock, Senator Richard Stevens, Rep. Jennifer
Weiss, and Rep. Nelson Dollar) and get their car washed. PBF
Advisory Board Members George Almond and Lorrin Freeman (Wake County
Clerk of Superior Court) also participated in the event.
The PBA and the PBF would like to say thank you to everyone who
supported this endeavor. A special thanks is also in order for our
friends Tony Morgan and Bunkey Morgan for donating their businesses
for this important cause.
You can still continue to support this cause through online
donations or the text to give campaign. Donation can also be made at
any Wachovia Bank in Cary.
You can help Matt by texting the phrase ‘COPS LONG’ to 85944. A $10
donation will be made to the fund through the contributor’s cell
phone bill.
