The Police Benevolent Foundation set to aid Blytheville Police
Officer Cody Gentry who was involved in an accident while
responding to a call


(January 20, 2011) --  transported to the Med Medical Facility in Memphis, TN, where he is in critical condition as a result of injuries sustained in the incident.

An account has been established under the Police Benevolent Foundation named the “Officer Cody Gentry Fund” at Regions Bank. Donations can be made at any Regions Bank so that the public can assist in the efforts to provide financial support to Officer Gentry. Citizens can make donations directly to the account. All donations to this account are used to aid Officer Gentry and his family with a portion of the donations being used to aid fallen officers via the PBF’s “Fallen Officer Fund. Donations can also be made through the Police Benevolent Foundation's website.

The Police Benevolent Foundation is now currently taking donations via text for Officer Gentry. You can help Officer Gentry by texting the phrase “COPS GENTRY” to 85944. A $10 donation will be made to the "Officer Cody Gentry Fund" through your cell phone bill. The PBF is asking everyone to please pass this information along to friends and family. Officer Gentry will need all of us to rally behind him in these hard times.

According to Arkansas PBA member Lieutenant Damon Travis, “Our thoughts, prayers, and support go out to Officer Gentry and his family during this difficult time. This incident reminds us all of the dangers that law enforcement officers face and the community support that is needed for our brave men and women who protect us every day.”

It is with a heavy heart that the PBF and ARPBA ask for the help of the community, both locally and nationally, to aid in it’s efforts to provide much needed support to this officer in his time of need.
