The Police Benevolent Foundation is set to aid the family of fallen Albany Police Officer Terry Mae Lewis-Flemming

 

 


(Albany, GA – November 2, 2011)
-- The Police Benevolent Foundation, Inc. and the Georgia Division of the Southern States PBA are in mourning as one of their own, Officer Terry Mae Lewis-Flemming of the Albany Police Department, was killed after her car crashed into a tree during the apprehension of a criminal in Albany, GA on Friday, October 28, 2011.  Officer Lewis-Flemming was a 36-year old veteran of the police force with 3 children and a husband of six months. Officer Lewis-Flemming paid the ultimate sacrifice, and it is with a heavy heart that the PBF asks for the help of the community, both locally and nationally, to aid in their efforts to provide much needed support for this officer’s family in their time of need.

An account has been established under the Police Benevolent Foundation called the “Terry Mae Lewis-Flemming Memorial Fund” at Regions Bank.  Donations can be made at any Regions Bank so that the public can assist in the efforts to provide financial support to Officer Lewis-Flemming’s family.  Donations can also be made through the Police Benevolent Foundation's website here.  Donations made to this memorial fund are 100% tax-deductible, and all proceeds will go to Officer Lewis-Flemming’s family. 

The Police Benevolent Foundation is also taking donations via text for the “Terry Mae Lewis-Flemming Memorial Fund.” You can help by texting the phrase COPS TERRY to 85944.  A $10 donation will be made through your cell phone bill.  The PBF is asking everyone to please pass this information along to friends and family. Officer Lewis-Flemming’s family will need all of us to rally behind them in these hard times.
 

The Police Benevolent Foundation, Inc is a tax-deductible 501(c)(3) organization established by the Southern States Police Benevolent Association, Inc. (SSPBA) in 2005.  Established in 1987, SSPBA has been serving its membership for 24 years. SSPBA is not a union. It is an independent association with no national or international affiliations. The Foundation has a Board of Directors elected by the membership of the SSPBA. Foundation expenses are currently absorbed by Southern States PBA, making the Foundation one of very few such entities that gives 100% of the funds received to its intended purpose.
