The Police Benevolent Foundation, KAIT in Jonesboro, AR and WMC-TV in Memphis, TN Will Hold A Fundraiser For Fallen Trumann Police Officer Jonathan Schmidt Monday, April 18th
On Monday, April 18th, The Police Benevolent
Foundation, KAIT in Jonesboro and WMC-TV in Memphis will partner with the
Arkansas Division of the Southern States Police Benevolent Association, Trumann
Police Department, The Jonesboro Radio Group and Eastern Arkansas Broadcasters
to hold a daylong fundraiser for fallen Trumann Police Officer Jonathan Schmidt.
Donations will be taken from 6:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Trumann, Arkansas
Wal-Mart located at 512 Industrial Drive and at the Jonesboro Wal-Mart located
at 1815 East Highland.
Teams from WMC-TV, KAIT, The Jonesboro Radio Group and Eastern Arkansas
Broadcasters will broadcast live from the Wal-Mart parking lots all day Monday
asking viewers to give to the Fallen Officer Fund.
100% of the proceeds will go to Officer Schmidt's family and will be collected
in a fund established at Regions Bank. Donations will also be accepted at any
Regions Bank location or by texting

(April 13, 2011) -- The Police Benevolent Foundation, Inc. and the Arkansas Division of the Southern States PBA are in mourning as one of their own, Officer Jonathan Schmidt of the Trumann Police Department, was shot and killed about 11:30 P.M. on Tuesday, April 12.
An account has been established under the Police Benevolent Foundation called the “Jonathan Schmidt Memorial Fund” at Regions Bank. Donations can be made at any Regions Bank so that the public can assist in the efforts to provide financial support to Officer Schmidt’s beneficiaries. Donations can also be made through the Police Benevolent Foundation's website here. All donations made to this memorial fund are tax-deductible, and 100% of the funds will go to Officer Jonathan Schmidt’s beneficiaries.
The Police Benevolent Foundation is also taking donations via text for the “Jonathan Schmidt Memorial Fund.” You can help by texting the phrase COPS SCHMIDT to 85944. A $10 donation will be made through your cell phone bill. The PBF is asking everyone to please pass this information along to friends and family. Officer Schmidt’s family will need all of us to rally behind them in these hard times.
