Attorney J. Michael McGuinness conducts Seminar for PBA Members

Seminar Covers Topics That Are Critical to Protecting Officers in the New Millennium

On November 13, 2010, Attorney J. Michael McGuinness presented a seminar for PBA members in Raleigh.

Officers undergo survival training on a regular basis that prepares them for situations when a suspect may injure or kill them on the street.  Rarely are they trained to deal with the internal and external forces that want to end their careers with a stroke of a pen.  This seminar was designed to educate and prepare members to deal with these situations.  Topics included:  Political Endorsements; Legal Updates for Officers; Protecting Officers Encountering Investigations; Officer Survival and New Advocacy Techniques; Use of Force Law; Garrity Issues; and Staying Alive Legally.

McGuinness has served as lead counsel in over one hundred and fifty jury trials, over fifty appeals, and hundreds of bench trials. McGuinness has worked with the PBA for years and has stellar record in defending PBA members.  His firm is located in Elizabethtown, North Carolina.
